Animals
Amphibians Amphibians
Amphibians are ectothermic or cold-blooded animals that metamorphose from a juvenile water breathing form, either to an adult air-breathing form, or to a paedomorph that retains some juvenile characteristics.
Birds Birds
Birds are winged, bipedal, endothermic (warm-blooded), egg-laying, vertebrate animals. There are around 10,000 living species, making them the most varied of tetrapod vertebrates.
Fishes Fishes
A fish is any aquatic vertebrate animal that is covered with scales, and equipped with two sets of paired fins and several unpaired fins. Most fish are "cold-blooded," or ectothermic, allowing their body temperatures to vary.
Insects Insects
Insects are a class within the arthropods that have a chitinous exoskeleton, a three-part body (head, thorax, and abdomen), three pairs of jointed legs, compound eyes, and two antennae.
Mammals Mammals
Mammals (formally Mammalia) are a class of vertebrate, air-breathing animals whose females are characterized by the possession of mammary glands while both males and females are characterized by sweat glands, hair and/or fur, three middle ear.
Reptiles Reptiles
Reptiles are animals in the (Linnaean) class Reptilia characterized by breathing air, a "cold-blooded" (poikilothermic) metabolism, laying tough-shelled amniotic eggs, and skin with scales or scutes.
