BRISBANE

This place is at a distance of 967kms towards the north of Sydney. Capital of the Sunshine State, the city enjoys an average of 7.5hours of sunshine daily. The Brisbane river flows through the city and out through Moreton Bay to the Pacific Ocean.

The city is more famous for its architectural surprises. The sub-tropical climate necessitates the construction of houses using timber. These houses possess a verandah and are raised on stilts to allow free passage of air beneath for cooling in the height of summer.

The architectural designs were previously encompassed tin roofs, iron lace fretwork and fences. One can still find many such original cottages though the modern style is now intermingled and more cosmopolitan in presentation. The centre of the city plays abode to the City Hall, which is overshadowed by large office buildings now.
