The last town on the Eyre Highway, Ceduna is at a distance of 786km from Adelaide and is situated near the junction of the Flinders and Eyre highways. This place got its name from an Aboriginal word 'chedoona' which means to sit down and rest. The original settlement was established at Denial Bay at a distance of 13 kilometers.
