Melbourne
Melbourne is termed as the most civilized and cosmopolitan city of the Australian Continent. This city has the pride of housing the best restaurants, art galleries and shopping outlets in the country. Melbourne is best seen if covered on foot. The delightful city has many small passageways and worn stairways that add a magical touch of history to an already magnificent alignment of buildings.

The city hosts some of the most prestigious events such as The Melbourne cup, The Australian Tennis Open and further still, The Comedy Festival. This place has numerous cultural events that provide immense entertainment to the tourists all throughout the year. Also present are a number of permanent exhibitions and art galleries for everyone to explore the existing culture and tradition of the nation.

The National Gallery of Victoria is highly valued throughout the world for it's fine collection of traditional Australian paintings and modern Aboriginal art works. This city is also well-known for its finest gardens and parks, interesting lakes, waterways and beautiful greenery. The Botanical gardens of this place are considered to be one of the best in the country. The Government of the state has stated that the city will retain many open spaces and gardens as far back as the early 1850's.

In 1851, Melbourne was at the centre of excitement and financial security due to the gold strikes. This wealth was utilized to its optimum most, to design everything to be wide and generous. The foot paths are now wide enough to accommodate large trees.
