South Australia
South Australia has a vast and varied culture. It has a total area of 984 377 kms, forming one eighth part of the Australian continent. One of the driest Australian States and Territories, it has an average annual rainfall of 528 mm, but just over 80 per cent of the State receives an average of less than 250 mm of rain a year. The total population of South Australia at the last census was 1459600. South Australia's Mediterranean climate is ideal for those who enjoy the outdoor life. More than 150 forms of recreation, sport and social entertainment are available here.

The state is more famous for its supplies of meat, wood, printing, cement and concrete products, iron and steel, and appliances and electrical equipment. South Australia is renowned for its cereal crops of wheat, barley and oats, along with vegetable crops like potatoes, onions, carrots, tomatoes, cauliflowers and peas. Of the other delicacies grown here are the fruit crops like oranges, peaches, apricots, grapes and apples. Wine-producing is a flourishing activity. Avocados, cherries, pears, plums and prunes, and strawberries are also grown.

Major attractions of the state include activities like mining and fishing. The state plays abode to a wide variety of wild life, too. The diverse climate of South Australia and its cosmopolitan nature is reflected in its restaurants and shops.
